Tayside Biodiversity - Funding - Scottish Rural Developement Programme
More Information At http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Rural/RDR

The Scottish Rural Development Programme (SRDP) is a £1.6 billion programme of economic, environmental and social measures designed to develop rural Scotland over the next seven years. The SRDP is very different from its predecessor. It includes measures to address economic and social goals as well as environmental measures. It is outcome-focused and primarily aims to deliver a Greener Scotland and to promote a Wealthier and Fairer rural Scotland. It will contribute to the Government's Healthier and Smarter objectives and will help to strengthen rural communities.

It brings together a wide range of formerly separate support schemes including those covering the farming, forestry and primary processing sectors, rural enterprise and business development, diversification and rural tourism. It includes measures to support and encourage rural communities and delivers the LEADER initiative for local innovation in rural areas.

Rural Priorities - regional priorities offer an indication of which outcomes are considered to be of greatest importance within each of the 11 regions and which actions would best deliver these. They were derived from a set of generic, national priorities by the Regional Proposal Assessment Committee (RPAC) for each region. In Tayside, Priorities 8 to 14 (inclusive) are particularly relevant – these cover both the biodiversity and landscape themes (orchards, for instance, are included in the Landscape Priorities list).
The Tayside Habitat and Species Actions Plans are accessible via the home page under the section “Biodiversity Action Plans”. The 2nd Tranche of Tayside Biodiversity Action Plans is currently being prepared for the website.
